Mt. Hale from 7 Dwarfs via North Twin Trail, Firewarden's Trail
Date of Hike: Sunday, March 8, 2009
Trail Conditions: Spring snow
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes
Comments:
Parked at 7 Dwarfs Motel ($6), Took snowmobile trails from Seven Dwarfs bridge to the herd path that starts at the closed bridge, to the North Twin summer parking lot. Snowmobile trails barebootable, herd path probably better in snowshoes.
North Twin Trail well packed, snowshoes still not a bad idea. Little creek crossings are open. First water crossing of North Twin Trail is no longer bridged at crossing. No blowdowns.
Firewarden's Trail is well packed all the way to the summit. The broken out trail meandered off course twice, so we broke out the actual trail routes on descent. No major blowdowns. Small water crossings on trail were opening up.
Great views from the snow structure on Hale!
