We were a leisurely traveling group from NH AMC. We met at the trailhead at the end of the road by the Mead house and went up and back down via Wentworth Trail. Although there were a few blowdowns the trail is in great shape through this beautiful countryside. Some people still don't know where the true summit is. We surprised one group by stepping around them to continue on the trail that isn't obvious from the ledges that give the first views toward Sandwhich. If they had a map they might realuze they hadn't passed the Mead Trail.
I want to thank whoever it was who found my National Forest Pass which must have fallen out of my car. I was truly puzzled seeing it on my car door. Then I was pleased at the honesty and caring to leave it where I would notice it.
