Mt. Jackson via Webster-Jackson Trail
Date of Hike: 12/29/08
Trail Conditions: Trail is wide and well-packed. Very solid. Carried snowshoes but didn't need them. Stabilicers handy as some sections of trail are icy (steep pitches between trailhead and bugle cliff, and near the summit). I probably should have switched to my crampons near the top (lots of ice), but managed OK with the Stabilicers. The last, long steep pitch just below the summit is ice free (for now). Crossing of Flume Cascade Brook wasn't too difficult (long step, might be harder for shorter legs).
Special Equipment Required: Crampons/Stabilicers.
Comments: Very windy at the top today! Great hike. Perfect temps.
