Trail Conditions: The link trail was paved, and the start of the Great Gulf Trail was flat, but further in it was very muddy and difficult to get by in places, but past the first junction it was decent. That is until our return from Sphinx to the Six Husbands junction. There it was under water in places and quite difficult to get by. There were a few blowdowns to deal with, especially in the return section noted above. Six Husbands Trail was great. A little wet to start, but it was being worked on as we hiked it (thanks). Gulfside isn't really worth noting: it was fine. Sphinx Trail was a stream that turned into a bigger stream, complete with a number of blowdowns; a real mess (but fun). All crossings were doable.

Special Equipment Used: None, but trekking poles could be helpful for the myriad crossings.

Comments: Hiked this one leading a Meetup group for NE Peakbaggers with Paula, Travis, Justin and Linalee. We had a great day on these awesome trails: great views, interesting scrambles, and some boulders to play on and under. Ran into Chris Dailey and hiked with him for a bit until he took off towards the Adams Slide (nice!). Also ran into Chris McNeil who was working on his adopted trail, Six Husbands. Good finally meeting him. Also ran into Kimball Rexford on the Jefferson summit; very cool seeing all these people I know. What an amazing hike it was. Love the whole route and all it has to offer.
