This is about a 6.5 mi hike with an elevation gain of 1500'. We were fortunate to have a car spot and ascended via Chittenden Road, a supply road for the fire tower/visitors center at the summit which is open only to hikers and bikers, and descended to Dunraven Pass.

Be prepared for bad weather ... this is the middle of August ...
The trail down is westward towards Dunraven Pass. That's Yellowstone Lake on the horizon.

Mt. Washburn

We hiked Mt. Washburn on August 10. Looks like our weather was a little bit better! Yellowstone was incredible - especially the wildlife and geothermal activity. We visited Glacier, Yellowstone & Grand Teton NPs. One of my best vacations.
