Trail Conditions: The trail to the Cascades was broken out and well packed. No one had ventured beyond there for some time. Given the consolidation of last week, trail breaking was not that difficult.
We lost the Nancy herd path about 100 yards from it’s beginning at the “No Camping” sign. It was a bushwhack from there to the summit.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes for the entire route.
Comments: DocRoss, Alex, and I were joined by an AMC group from the Boston chapter. They followed us to the summit of Nancy where they generously shared their summit cookies with us. From there, the three of us bushwhacked over to Bemis and then due south to rejoin the Nancy Pond Trail near the top of the Cascades.
Snow conditions are the best they have been since early January!
