If you're heading south from the bridge, stay close to the river until you cross the stream draining the boggy area above you. After that if you head uphill and take a route away from the river a bit the going is a lot flatter, drier, and more open.

Yup that i what we did, We actually drifted south a bit around the high point of the TFT and intersected it in some nice open softwoods.
