2nd time is the charm! Hard packed trail through Black Pond bushwack and on the Lincoln Br. Tr.. The bushwack up the Owl's Head starts just past the second stream crossing. There is a direct route up to the ridge and on to the old summit. The new summit is 1/4 mile further on the ridge. The weather was a wintry mix with heavy wind gusts up high. Owl's Head is somewhat protected (wouldn't care to be on Lafayette ridge today.) We wore snow shoes the whole trip. Encountered 7 other hikers throughout the day, Congrats to them! Thanks to the past hikers who navigated the route. Another fine day of hiking with Ed. We had a comfortable campout with a wet slog out on Sunday!
