Our group, eight day hikers and two campers found a well packed trail to all peaks, although a bit soft at times. Any misstep off the trail found deep, soft snow. Temps were 32 starting out and a high in the low 40's. We saw plenty of dead end paths to Couch and improved some closures and added some branches where there were none. So less wandering now. Plenty of sun until mid afternoon. On Santanoni, we spotted the dark clouds rolling in, took quick photos and went down the new herd path, previously broken out. It wanders from the summer path but no complaints, we were thrilled to use it. A snow squall up high then a little light rain on the way out. On the ride home, there was medium to heavy rain in the north country.
