Spaderman
New member
Date of Hike: 1-23-10
Hikers: Spaderman, The Great Pumpkin & a new addition, Quinn the Eskimo
Weather Conditions: Near perfect for winter, no clouds, minimal winds (25 mph top of Ike) & unlimited visibility.
Trail Conditions: Packed out to the top of Crawford Path to Pierce. Bare-booted it all the way to Pierce. Some blowdowns but all passable one way or another. From Pierce to Eisenhower recommend snowshoes to avoid postholing. Key an eye on the trail as there is some wanderings. Blowdowns along the way, again passable in one form or another. Trail up Eisenhower Loop well defined, snowshoes handy. Light traction on the Crawford Trail down from Pierce is helpful but not necessary.
Equipment: Light traction & snowshoes (see above).
Comments: First hike of the season for The Great Pumpkin (recovering from a broken bone compliments of biking) & Quinn the Eskimo (look for further conquests by this man) & Winter #41 (Ike) for Spaderman. Further lusty tales of adventure (or is it tales of lusty adventure) to follow from The Great Pumpkin under Trip Reports.
