Date hiked: November 1
Conditions: Dry on the road, but shoreline had some mucky areas. Deer ticks in profusion!
Equipment: Hiking poles, camera and a sense of adventure.
We love exploring the shorelines of some of the gates when the water levels are down. So many interesting pieces of driftwood, plus a beaver sighting, as well as three loons, and duck. One of the most peaceful places in MA. But, if you go off trail, as we did a bit, the deer ticks were all lurking and just waiting to hitchhike!! Not a good thing to have happen! Found a few cranberries in one of the places where we had found them before. A good day, except for the ticks that we took off our clothes!
