Trail Conditions: Plenty of mud at lower elevations. Round had some ice towards the summit, so conditions were a bit slippery. Dial had about 3 inches of snow on top, with a few drifts that were deeper.

Special Equipment Required: I brought yaktrax (don't have microspikes yet), but didn't use them at all. They might have been a little nice on Round, but probably overkill. Snowshoes aren't necessary yet, just some good waterproof boots, gaiters, and "snowpants."

Comments: Beautiful day for hiking. Some really high winds, but the sun was out for most of the day, and the sweeping overcast was excellent. Temps ranged from 39 degrees to high 20s.
