In Memoriam to a Deceased Member
FR 95 open a mile or two past gate and plowed. Parked in skidder lot, nobody working on 12/29 due to cold and wind.
Trail unbroken, 4 inches above light non-supporting crust. Slow going, snowshoes whole way. 7 miles RT, just under 7 hours total time.
No significant water crossings on this route, and we were mostly out of the wind, except for the summit of course, and the bump east of the summit, where we were nearly flattened by a gust of 40-50 mph. Brutally cold today.
