I have finally gotten around to doing something I had been thinking about for many years ... produce Google Maps of the various trailheads. Here are two: Franconia and Kinsman Ridge trailheads and RT 3 trailheads. I will soon have a whole bunch of these on my site.

With a computer it is easy to get directions: click on the icon, either on the map or in the list of waypoints, and a popup window will appear. Choose "Directions" and you will be prompted for your location, and will get static directions.

How would a smartphone handle this? It knows where you are right now, and keeps track of your position as you keep on driving. So in theory it should be able to give you turn by turn navigation. Since I do not have a smartphone I cannot test this.

Is there anything I can do to make these links more "smartphone friendly"?

While on the topic, how do smartphones use waypoint files like the ones I posted in the thread Trailhead waypoint file?.
