Started from Loj on the typical route up the Old Nye Ski Trail with my hiking buddy Vern. Very little snow or ice on the trail.
Reached the main obstacle for the day which was Indian Pass Brooke. The water was too high to rock hop, and the temps had been too warm to form ice. Luckily we thought ahead and brought water shoes and microspikes. We went about 500 feet up stream, changed into the water shoes and went across. Needless to say the water was a bit chilly. We crossed with no problems, changed back into boots and headed up.
Basically the trip from the brook was the typical Street and Nye hike: very few views, but no difficulties. The trails are in good shape and the path was fairly easy to follow. Up high there were about five inches of snow.
We returned the same route, crossing the brook a second time.
We were able to bare boot the entire trip.
