The Garden access

Is it possible to park at the Garden before 8am on a weekday in June? I read somewhere that it is gated until 8am.

No problem last July

Last summer I parked at about 0730, there was no locked gate at that time. Anyone there more recently with a different experience?

I've never heard of it being gated, and I can't even imagine them doing that.

Unless there is a gate to close the road up there in Winter, the Garden parking area is always open. You can drive up there any time, day or night. There are self-service parking fee envelopes at the entrance booth in the lot.

Thanks folks. I got my info from the "Adirondack Journey" website. They mention a $5 fee and that the lot is gated when the attendant is on duty.

Guess not.
