A fine day in the southern access to the high peaks. The trail into Flowed lands was well packed and had been through a thaw/freeze cycle. No recent tracks over the cut-off to Indian Pass. Several hikers preceded me in with a few overnighters on snowshoes exiting. All water crossings still well packed and no bridges necessary. Both Lean-tos at Flowed lands vacant, but a few occupied on or near Lake Colden. Previous sign-ins were destined for Redfield, Cliff, plus Gray & Skylight. About a dozen cars at the Upper Works parking area.

Five cars at the Adams/Allen trailhead and 3 at the tracked trail northwest to Bradley pond (and the base of Santanoni). The road in was snowpacked in the AM but only the 3 miles closest to the tralhead was covered at 2PM (Sat. 3/13). Any car can make it with no mud yet. Clouds hovering around the highest peaks prevented any views of biggest peaks except partial of Mt. Colden. Adams looked cloud free for most of the day.

Plenty of snow above Minerva with no recent tracks at Stony Pond. Vanderwacker looked like it had a snowmobile track with only one car parked by the Boreas river.
