Any suggestions for car camping spots near the New Boston trailhead in
VT? Nothing fancy required, just a place to pitch a tent for the night without getting hassled.

When I was there a few years ago, the trailhead itself was a designated primitive campsite with outhouse. It looked like you could camp at the top of the gravel pit if the obvious camping spot was too close to the road for your taste.

Note that roadside camping is legal almost anywhere in the GMNF including trailheads, but you should buy the Forest map or equivalent as there are a lot of private inholdings.

That's excellent info, Roy.
That parking lot up USFS 99 looks to definately be within GMNF.
The David Logan lean-to is also only a mile up the trail.
