I'm out here in Seattle for a little bit and they have a some weather issues that we don't often get in our NE mountains: extended warm rains falling on heavy snow pack. The result is tremendous flooding and avalanches. All passes through the Cascades are closed and even highways and roads in the Seattle area.

Be sure to check out the link in the story to the photo gallery, especially the photo of Snoqualmie Falls (photo #13 of 65). My son and I walked to the base of the falls on a previous trip. Don't think I'd want to stand down there today.
