Parking for one or maybe if lucky two cars after the bridge on Ingerson Rd.
Not a good dog day. Way too much snow, which was way too soft.
This was a snow shoe hike all the way. Actually I would really love to watch barebooters do this one.
We got the idea for this approach to Waumbek from a post by Stinkyfeet and thought it sounded interesting. It was!:)

About 9/10 in on Priscilla Brook Tr we went down and crossed the brook. Bridges were very weak and worse coming back. The woods were as she described, wide open. We went steeply up to the ridge and then it was moderate the rest of the way except for the last pitch, which was steep. Woods were excellent and there was only a small patch of spruce near top that was a bit scrappy, but still pretty mild by bushwhack standards. We came out about 100 ft from summit of Waumbek. The snow was the issue today! It started soft and got softer. It was deep (6"-30+"), heavy and sticky. We four really worked to get this relatively short hike (4.8mi round trip) to Waumbek. Views from the outlook were awesome. Even going back out on our "trail" was tough as the snow collapsed even more from the warm temperatures. That being said, we all agreed that this was an awesome way to get Waumbek, and plan to come back and do it in another season. This is a keeper. Thanks Stinkyfeet for the idea, and of course Beth, Steve and Karen.
