Weather was sunny with light wind and temps were above freezing.

Snow shoes were used all day. Other traction devices such as stabilicers/10 pt crapmons were not needed.

Much of the day we hiked with one or two breathable layers on, needing wind shell/gortex jacket only for lunch stop.

Addtl notes;
Our Tubbs snowshoes suffered from clumpitis due to the warm temps and the sun on the powder snow at higher elevs. Repeated knocking of the snowshoes on adjacent trees and rock outcrops was needed to clear off the clumped snow.

Snow conditions were soft due to the above freezing temps and lower trail usage. (The trail had seen a few users+/- in the last week). Walking along the trail felt like walking on a good quality soft matress with all springs intact. :)

Our later start and our need to return at a reasonable time caused us turn around from summiting with approx 3/10ths of a mile to go at our lunch spot and looking longly at the summit with a vow to return soon with two cars for a car spot and do a traverse to either Peck Rd TH or Rt 23 TH.
