Polecat to ridge barebootable, as was the ridge,quite firm.Some may prefer light traction.
Tom,Field, Willey
Trails up from Highland center firm and barebootable.Mt tom spur,Willey range trail to Mt. Field are also firm and no traction needed.From Field to Willey is on the more southernly aspect and I put on the snowshoes to avoid postholing in the soft snow.Kept the snowshoes on from Willey to Field and on to Avalon.Took them off at junction with A-z trail where it is very firm and not so steep.
The forecast was calling for some showers but it turned out to be a beautiful day,wore shorts and gaiters for the most part,although the trails were firm unless in the sun.
This was the final push in my SSW48,Willey was also my overall NH48 finish.
