Date of Hike:1/25
Trail Conditions: Hard packed snow, not very deep, icy in a lot of places, some exposed rock
Special Equipment Required: I wore snow shoes from car to car mainly because I'd rather wear them than carry them. Out of the dozens of people I saw on the range today, I was the only one. Everybody else wore some kind of traction- mostly micro-spikes but I saw a few crampons and one bare-booter.
-It was quiet in the morning but crowded in the afternoon- I didn't see a single person until I started coming down Field. Then all of a sudden I started seeing throngs of people. I must have passed thirty people on the A-Z trail and on the spur trail up to Tom.
