It was time for a big hike, and today was the day. It was chilly at times, and winter layers were the clothing of choice. My previous longest hike was a 17.5 mile, 6100 ft. of gain, Passaconaway/Whiteface/Sleepers/Tripyramids loop back in June. This one would lengthen to 20, but with slightly reduced gain (5700 ft.). Things went well, though my legs did not appreciate being asked to climb back from Bondcliff, and I made it in awesome time!

Nice photos, Bill. I particular enjoy this time of year as the trees separate into species by bands of color. Things like old logging roads show up more yellow from birches, for example.
