Trail Conditions:The road and trail to the hut were relatively well packed powder. From the hut up to Zealand on the Twinway was brutally deep powder. I regularly stepped knee deep and thigh deep in snow. Also, the snow raise path requires ducking many tree branches that are bending due to the weight of the snow.
Special Equipment Required: I wore snow shoes all day. I saw a couple of skiers.
Comments: Optional -I intended to get to Guyot and spend the night at the tent site. My 35 pound pack added an additional challenge and caused me to sink deeper into the snow than otherwise.
