Trail Conditions: Hike in on 10 Mile Brook Trail easy, well packed, used kahtoola's (Crampons not microspikes) - many barebooted, some used snowshoes. Not much snow, a lot of rocks still visable. Hike out of Notch up Carter Moriah Trail was tough, 6- 12" of unbroken trail (save some old bareboot holes), drifts up high. Met two hikers coming down at top of steep section, going much easier after that. Used MSR's on the way up, boot-skied on the way down.
The hike up Wildcat Ridge Trail on Sunday much the same, more snow and unbroken trail (not anymore!) - Tough climb due to the minimal amount of cover over the rocks, MSR's worked well on the way up, tried crampons, MSR's and bareboots on the way down, bareboots worked best. The slide is easy to traverse, no ice.
