Trail Conditions:
Hard packed snow until the brook crossing, snow progressed deeper as the ascent continued. Knee deep in powder with snowshoes in the blowdown area.

Special Equipment Required:
Snowshoes required. Gaiters needed in the deep powder. No crampons necessary. Hooded outer shell parka helpful when snow continued to dump of branches on my head. GPS would help although we didn't use ours to find peak of Nye- had to bushwack because trail was difficult to find.

Clear trail dissipated to nothing in the blowdown area. Thought we were lost until coming upon the sign for Nye's summit. Two other groups followed our tracks so trail should be well established now. Great day overall, losing the trail added to the adventure.
