Road washout in Franconia/Twin Mtn area

Depending on how the bridge inspections go, Route 3 could be closed for a while.

thanks for the heads up. we're heading up next week and will have to adjust our routes a bit, 142 and 302 look okay.

As of 4 p.m., you could drive eastbound on Rt. 3 through Twin Mountain as far as Trudeau Road, then the detour diverts you onto Trudeau Road>302>142>I93. From the Trudeau Road detour off Rt. 3, you can see the bridge on Rt. 3 between the two termini of the Gale River Loop Road; heavy equipment was shoring up the banks on the south side. Rt. 18 was still closed as of about 4.15 and presumably 141 as well. The Gale is still running quite high through Franconia, and there's clear evidence that it was way over its banks in the last 24 hours or so.

I'll be heading up north Tuesday morning. Has Rt 3 been reopened?
