Lincoln and Lafayette loop. 5/16/2010

Trails: Falling Waters - Franconia Ridge - Greenleaf - Old Bridle Path

Patchy slushy snow in the trail and woods starting at ~4000'.
No snow/ice above timberline.
Falling Waters was a mixture of conditions: dry, damp, muddy, and sometimes a stream. Stream crossings all easy.
OBP was generally dry.

Wind on the ridge 25-35 mph, gusting to 40-50, w/ some stretches of sustained 40-45 mph winds. Highest measured gust 48 mph.

Spring wildflowers:
Diapensia at lower end of the ridge was in bud, but not yet at the higher elevations towards Lafayette.
Painted Trillium in prime bloom on lower Old Bridle Path, Purple Trillium there was going past.

I barebooted the whole way. Had Stabilicers but the amount of time I might've worn them wasn't worth bothering.
