That would be a good one when the days are longer and the bugs not out yet.
I have wanted to do a Lincoln Woods/302 super wack for years. I'd bring a bivy and camp somewhere, just cause I like camping in unusual spots...

Super-light, overnight bushwhacks are great in dry weather. I've done 3 or 4. It's an extra-long hike with a sleeping break in the middle.

Great job folks! I can't wait to start doing some off trail stuff. Maybe in the spring.

This all sounds great. Hope Sue will agree to come out before 2017 Bivvying on peaks and ledges is great IMO.

Good stuff beyond the trails Sunshine Chris, I think you'll enjoy venturing out.
It's only 0.2 how bad could it be?

I feel guilty for having participated in leading this trip report thread of Stinky's so far astray.

Not really, well, maybe a little, but not much. When do we go on this trip anyway?

You guys come up with the date and I'll sign up.... Sometime not too hot, but after serious mud season/rotted out snow season, and not in black fly season..... In short when it's absolutely perfect

Welllll... Friday, June 21, is summer solstice, and Sunday, June 23, is full moon.
Howsabout that weekend for a Pemi Super-Whack? Still too many black flies?

Not to worry about thread drift, Neil.

Been off trail on a backpack trip that went up the Osseo trail over Flume and Liberty, then a camp out and the following day we bushwhacked down to Owl's Head coming out about a 1/2 mile south. It was alot of fun and a decent whack, actually. We stayed overnight and hiked Owl's head at 4am and then hiked out on the Wilderness Trail to Lincoln Woods. That was on a Thanksgving weekend a few years ago. I loved it.
