Trail in good shape (very leafy) and well marked. Water crossing easily negotiated. Slabs were dry and upper part of the trail wet from a bit of snow. Some patches of snow higher up but nothing that made going slippery.

No special equipment needed.

Morning started out cold, in the 30s, but "warmed" nicely and the views were spectacular. There was a slight breeze at the summit and temps actually were colder on our return from the summit.

We opted to take the logging road out to the Kancamagus and walk the .6 miles back to the trailhead (and our car). The logging road is gated and as we approached the gate (and the highway) we noticed a Honda Civic with MA plates parked and running. As we passed we quickly understood why. After all, coming to the Whites during foliage season ignites the passion in all of us!
