12-12-14: Mount Jackson via Webster-Jackson Trail
Trail Conditions: Crusty surfaced snow with varying depths below Bugle Cliff. Some areas of running water and bare ground, but very few. Deeper more powdery drifts near the summit.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes were great for breaking out this trail and widening the narrow path of bare-booters.
Comments: I was very glad to have picked this peak for today's cabin fever outing. My car was the only one in the lot and I eventually caught up with the two people ahead of me. One of them asked if I had "cabin fever", he had a pretty good idea I was indeed summitseeker. It was a little tricky getting up the steep sections of near the summit. I had to get a little creative at times to keep from sliding on the deep, unstable snow. The trail should be in great shape for tomorrow. None of the water crossings were bridged. It was a great day to be out and enjoy the snowy scenery.
