Date of Hike: 05/20/2012

Trail Conditions: dry, easy crossings, bridges on the larger brooks, trail not well traveled, poison ivy along the sides, at the top ample bluebluerry bushes up top but none this early

Special Equipment Required: sunscreen, bug spray

Comments: - 1st time I had been here, several roads in the area made finding the trail head a little harder than usual but the folks at Garnet Hill Lodge were very friendly and gave us a more detailed map of the area, the dining room in the lodge looked very inviting too. The trail starts just to the right of the ski shop heading up the 124 driveway but the trails, head to the right just a short distance up the driveway. From the top of Balm of Gilead, a great view of the remote Siamese Ponds Wildereness. The mine was a neat place, care needs to be had at the sharp turn on the trail soon leaving the junction or you end up back in the driveway.
