Camping in Adirondacks?

My wife and I will be traveling up to do a Great Traverse hike and was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a campground in the Keene valley area. We're driving up from Jaffrey, NH. and I think it's about 4.5 hours.

Sharp Bridge is a NY State campground that is close to KV, has showers and stuff...

You can go a little further North and stay at Wilmington Notch. This is also a state campground.

You could always rent a lean-to from the ADK at Johns Brook.

We've decided on Sharp's Bridge because it's on the way up and back, so no going out of our way. Also we just sleep in the back of our pickup (inside a cap) and SB allows dogs, too.

Thanks for all the suggestions, can't wait to get up there and have our first hike in the Adirondacks! We'll be up there on Labor Day weekend. Now we'll just be hoping for good weather with clear views!
