Hi folks, I'm vacationing near Provincetown next week with Mrs. nyestreet. Any suggestions for nearby day trips in the kayak? Thanks, John

A few of my favorites..

Closest to P-town try Wellfleet Harbor and Great Island
There's a public launch off Chequessett Neck Rd, just past the Herring River bridge in Wellfleet.

If you're down that way, the 'wildest' place on all of the Cape is the Monomoy Islands off Chatham.
Park at the north end of the Morris Island causeway and launch a short carry to the east in Outermost Harbor.

Probably the most popular place to paddle on the Cape is the Nauset Marsh in Eastham
The Heminway launch is on Heminway Rd., first right north of the Eastham information kiosk on Rt 6
You could also launch in Salt Pond, below the Salt Pond visitor center. But avoid low tide.

Thanks for the suggestions, I hope to try each area.Have you been to Sandy Neck?
I've fished there, but only on foot. It's a little out of range from where we stay.

Out of the places I mentioned, the Monomoy area would be my first choice.
Here's some aerial photos that someone posted on another web site (I hope it's OK to post this link) this past spring

The first picture in the second post shows the causeway where you would launch
