Colvin-Blake Trip Report 03-05-06

We had a beautiful day on Colvin and Blake yesterday. Snow conditions - excellent; blowdown - minimal. Ran into 'adksteve', who was doing the exact same itinerary as us. Great to meet you guys!

Our upcoming Utah slotcanyons trip means this is the Last winter 46er hike for us this year!

Wow, very nice web page!

We left the gate at 6:25 AM Sunday and did the same hike that you did. I guess we almost ran into ADKSteve and company as we turned to go down to the Lake. We could hear voices coming down Colvin as we came off Blake.

The weather really cooperated for this one! At the summit of Colvin it was a little windy, but on Blake, it was dead calm. We got warm standing around in the Sun!

And as you noted, great views, and the best butt sliding of the year so far!

It was great to meet your crew. We had a great day - probably one of the best of this winter season. The boys certainly did enjoy the butt slides and the ski out. We had to finish it off with a trip to the Noonmark Dinner.
