Has anyone been up either one of these trail on Lafayette recently? I was looking at going up OBP to Lafayette, across the ridge all the way to Flume, then backtracking to Falling Waters and down. I am looking to run this and was wondering how solid the snow is. Thanks.

Franconia Ridge

I was up ther on Sunday. Falling waters trail was in good shape with low water crossings. There was some ice/snow on the upper section, but we made it up that without crampons. Going down FW, crampons or yax-trax might be helpful, but probably not necessary if your careful. There was no snow or ice on the ridge itself, and only a few patches of snow and ice on greenleaf trail above the hut, though it did snow a tiny bit on top of lafayette that day, but should be ok. OBP is also pretty clear if a bit muddy. Id say you'll be in good shape.

:D
