As an owner of an Australian Shepard, my guard is never down for ticks. Did Pitcher mt in Stoddard yesterday, as my dog has a bum leg and we are "resting" it. Took the dirt road up, but the descent trail corridor was so narrow, the brush was like going through a car wash. Went 200ft and retraced out steps and took the road down. Over the next several weeks adult deer ticks will spend their time searching for a mate, finding a final host for the season and laying eggs.
Until there is consistent snow on the ground they are a potential issue. I think a lot of us let our guards down this time of year
