Sorry about the disgusting name but that is what it is being called.
The long name is Didymosphenia (if I have it correct).
It's being reported in NY and New England nasty stuff that chokes out the ponds.
Fresh water only.
There is some good information over on paddling .net... under the paddlerplace disscussion forum.
I had never heard of it till I saw it posted complete with a sparay bottle of bleach, up in Maine.
I know I washed my boat from top to bottom when I returned home.
I'm also wondering if paddling in salt water would be enough to kill it.
Just thought I would pass the info along .
