Trail Conditions: Avalon Trail was packed to A-Z junction (A-Z looked packed out) and on to Avalon side spur but not beyond. From the junction, two others had gone ahead of me on WRT to Willey and between the three of us, it was broken out well, but filling in again in the windy sections. Avalon was fully broken out on my descent. A blowdown or two on the ridge between Field and Willey but routes around.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes start to finish today. Cold on the ridge with wind, so the usual cold weather gear helped.
Comments: Fun day out - great to break though new snow on Avalon Trail. The ridge was windy and cloudy and I could barely make out Webster Cliffs from the outlook on Willey. Saw a couple different groups on the ridge. Forest was beautiful with the spruce trees all covered in puffy white snow.
