Hiking Options Near Stony Pond/Falls Brook

Hello All:

I am planning to stay at a cabin not too far from Stony Pond (Minerva) later this month, and I wanted to know if some of the Adirondack hikers around here can suggest some day hikes in that area that would be appropriate for me and my significant other.

I have a lot of hiking experience, but she does not (although she's pretty tough), so I am looking for moderate hikes that would ideally lead to nice viewpoints.

I picked up ADK Guide Number 3 (Central Adirondacks), which has some good options, but I wanted to consult this board as well, since many of you folks know the 'Daks inside and out...
