I have seen a couple of fairly recent post talking about ascending ski trails to the top of Sugarloaf. I just called the mountain for their view of the situation, and, surprise, they are not keen on snowshoeing on their ski trails, though they did say the western part of the mountain does not operate during the week so they would not care about that.

Here is what The Man suggested:

Park at the Sugarloaf Inn and walk through the private condos up Bigelow Mountain Road to the Burnt Mountain Trail. Take that trail to the top. He thought it would be well traveled as it is, at least lower down, on the cross country circuit. I do not see a trail marked "Burnt Mountain Trail" on my National Geographic Topo maps.

Does anybody here have any opinions on that? Or other approaches to this mountain for a possible hike this weekend?

Many thanks!
