LarryD, Brewster and I attempted Iso on Saturday. Our plan was to nab Iso for Larry (W48) and N. Iso for Brewater and I (WinterTW72). We made it to the height of land on Engine Hill and found the bushwack unbroken. The trail WAS broken by one set of tracks. We opted for the bushwack, attempting to retrace the route Bob Hayes and I had taken in 2010. It took us 2 hours to get from the height of land to 2/3rds of the way through the 'whack. Being noon, we punted, and decided to head straight downhill to the trail.
If anyone else attempts the engine hill bushwack, make sure NOT to follow our tracks once they start heading downhill, you will end up between the 2nd and 3rd crossing. One out way out, the 1st and 2nd crossing were well bridged and easy.
All is all, it was still a great day in that beautiful birch glade!
