Trail conditions: Excellent most of the way..very nice footbed from Lincoln gap all the way to Ellen..some quite steep and eroded spots on drop down to Rt 17
Equipment: poles about all that was needed on this fine early FALL day..not much of a breeze so the storng sun kept cool temps at bay
Comments: Silent Sam and Sleeveless looking to finish off ne67 so Native Lady and i headed over to VT today..After spotting a car at App Gap we headed down around and up to lincoln gap where we started the hike..Lots of elevation gained on these road drives....Hike up to Abe went well..excellent views into NY available.. we marveled at the fine footbed heading over to Ellen which appeared suddenly as a cairn in the middle of the trail.. Great views from the ski area clearings..checked out the nicely redone single chair at Mad River..Climb down from the re steep and rough in spaces ..Great day on the trail with native Lady, Sleeveless, Silent sam...OTHH
