Marcy to Kathadin -- on foot the whole way!!

Yesterday we were doing the Galehead Twins loop. At Galehead Hut we met a fascinating couple; a man who appeared to be in his thirties and a woman who seemed in her twenties. We chatted a bit, and he told us that they had started in NY State, walked across from the High Peaks area to the ferry, crossed into Vermont. Then they took the LT south to Camel's Hump, used country roads to reach Moosilauke, and were headed to Kathadin. Both are teachers and have the summer off.

Anyone met them earlier on their journey?

reminds me of a couple i met last summer in carter notch that was "thru hiking" nh from south to north starting at the mass border and going up into canada using a mix of trails and roads. don't remember if they were teachers, but all other criteria seem to match. not a bad way to spend a summer.
