Has anyone ever bushwacked Mendon Peak from the South? I remember from many many years ago a jeep road that would get you in pretty close.

I think most people have followed my, or Bob & Geri, or Papa Bear, or Mohamed's route, which all involves the old jeep road that's on the north side side of the mountain up to the Mendon / Little Killington saddle.
That said, the USGS topo maps do show a trail coming up from the south right into the saddle, from which a bushhwack over to the herd path would be easy (the saddle being very open). The maps also show a jeep road but it is much further away, going by Robinson Hill.
