Started with hardpack snow and then hard ice up the slopes. Freshly sharpened hill sounds were fine for both climbing and descending, but someone would prefer crampons or avoid the trail altogether. The summit was rocks and ice. On the way up, we didn't see the sign turning right south of Mount Blue and ended up taking the abandoned AT trail. It was almost a bushwhack at times with deep snow and spruce traps. Be prepared for wind, there's no sign of it until you get over tree line and it's strong. No issues for crossings.
