The 1.4 miles of Lincoln Woods Trail was a wide swath of very hard-packed snow with a few stretches of ice in the usual places. Osseo Trail cover was primarily a well-packed track under a couple of inches of new powder with a few icy spots. Steps in steep section were entirely covered with packed snow. Low snow base down low but plenty still, up high. Flume summit ridge is drifted and requires a little care.
We wore Microspike ST's throughout, carrying our snowshoes for ballast. This traction was adequate for the steeps but might be less so with another thaw/freeze cycle.
There was one large step-through blowdown on the straight, lower section of the Osseo Trail. No crossings.
Nice hike in a light snowfall with Sarah, Mike, Laura and Jiffy.
