Date of Hike: 01 December 2012

Trail Conditions: Powder, a couple inches at the base increasing to approximately 8 inches at the top. Few patches of ice underneath, but not much.

Special Equipment Required: We carried traction but did not use it. Everyone hiked in summer boots or trail runners.

Comments: Spaces in between rocks were filled with snow, making rocks slippery and hard to see and making footing difficult. We did a fair amount of slipping and stumbling, especially on the steep section just below the summit. Microspikes would not have helped. Apart from that we enjoyed light snow all day. One of us saw a pine marten dash across the trail.
