we used snowshoes all the way. Well packed trail with 1" of new snow at beginning increasing up to 2" with drifts just before the ledges. Started down towards Webster but once down in the trees after the steep part, we were unable to find the trail so turned around and went back the way we came. The sun peaked through on our way down. Weather was great but winds strong enough on top so that we didn't linger there. Met several people. One lady who came up behind us when we were layering up for the top had crampons on and I am sure she appreciated that we had snowshoed ahead of her. All water crossing were frozen and bridged. Traction needed above treeline but micro spikes would have been fine.
